About Us?
Sweet Tooth offers Berliner’s a small bite of homemade style American cupcakes in Charlottenburg.
We know that there are many things that separate the Europeans from the Americans, but we believe that cake should be the universal uniter! And we’re going to prove it one cupcake at a time.
Sure, Apple Strudel is a good thing and who doesn’t like an éclair? But in the spirit of diplomacy, isn’t it time to make some room for cupcakes? Their moist rich cake and creamy topping reaches across borders.
At Sweet Tooth we’ve taken traditional American recipes and refined them to suit European tastes. We’ve also said ‘No’to super-sizing and made them mini for those watching their weight or seeking to enjoy a variety of flavors.
And just to help repair American-Euro relations, we’ve even gone a step further to reach out to our European friends. At Sweet Tooth we’ve revamped typical American buttercream frosting with an Italian twist. Unfortunately, often times form takes priority over substance in America (see, Pamela Anderson, et.al). This holds true for some cupcake bakers too, who use just plain butter or even shortening to make their buttercream frostings. The result may look good, but it doesn’t taste good and isn’t good for you. We go the extra mile and replace some of the fat with hand made meringue beaten from fresh eggwhites and slowly heated to form a perfect consistency. This process, known as Italian buttercream results in a lighter, less sweet and creamier buttercream with less fat. Viva Italia!
Sweet Tooth has gone even further than Italy to bring it’s cupcake message around the world. With organic lavender blossoms from Provance, real vanilla beans from Madagascar and dark rum from Jamaica, we’ve searched the globe for the freshest ingredients to ensure that cupcakes earn the respect they deserve and American cuisine isn’t known for McDonalds alone! Oh, yes and we have coffee too (and it’s not from Starbucks).
